PLANNED GIVING SCHEME
What is the Planned Giving Scheme?
It is a commitment by individuals to give a regular amount to the church on a weekly or monthly basis.
There are two ways to donate to this scheme:
· By personal weekly envelopes which are provided by the Gift Aid Secretary
· By monthly bank standing order
Gift Aid Envelopes and Standing Orders
If you are a tax payer and give donations to St James’, the use of gift aid envelopes or the setting up of a monthly standing order with your bank will enable us to reclaim the tax you have paid on the donation i.e. 25p in the pound, without any extra cost to you.
Non Gift Aid Envelopes and Standing Orders
If you do not pay tax and give donations to St. James, you are able to use non gift aid envelopes, or set up a monthly standing order with your bank. The church is able to claim a certain amount per annum on the envelope donations under the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme, which is not connected to the payment of tax by the donor.
How to obtain Planned Giving Envelopes or set up a monthly Standing Order
Standing Order forms may be downloaded from this website (see below), and are also available at the back of church. Completed forms should be returned to Mrs Chris Done [Gift Aid Secretary] in church, or given [in a sealed envelope] to a Churchwarden for her attention.
