Baptism (Sometimes called 'Christening')
Baptism - a new beginning
Baptism is a wonderful event which marks the start of a journey of faith.
Baptism is also a welcome into the local church community and, for young children, the celebration of the wonder of a new life.
Baptism is one of the two principal sacraments of the Church of England. A sacrament is a means of God’s grace, a way in which God offers humankind the opportunity to share in his life.
Baptism is also called the "first sacrament" because it is the sacrament through which the Church supports an individual person’s response in faith to God in Christ.
